An allergic reaction is a response from the child’s immune system to a medicine, chemical, food, insect bite, or other substance. This reaction can range from mild to life-threatening.
Some children have mild rash, hives, itching, or stomach cramps. In severe reactions, children can have swollen throat or tongue which closes up the airway and the child cannot breathe. Most parents do not know what to do if their child gets an allergic reaction. The first and most important thing is to look for signs.
